Jema (#605-18)

Jema (originally called Charlotte) was a scared and frightened girl in a Hyde Park NY shelter.  Jeff volunteered to drive from South Jersey to pick her up and foster her for MACSPRO.   After driving thru a snowstorm and having her in his home for a few days, which was pretty lonely after his beloved Kosmo crossed the Rainbow Bridge,  Jeff and Maryann couldn’t let her go and became Foster Failures.  They even named her after them!  JE from Jeff and MA from Maryann.   Jema is now living a great life, getting spoiled by her new parents in Jackson, NJ.   Way to go Jema.

Mugsy (#601-18)

Mugsy came to MACSPRO on March 9th, 2018.  He was found as a stray on the streets of Richmond, VA and was unclaimed after two weeks.  The vet determined his age to be about 10 months old.  Whether it was due to poor diet or neglect, Mugsy came into the shelter with half his coat missing, extremely thin (32 pounds) and open bloody sores all over his underbelly and legs.  He immediately went to the vet for an examination. The vet believes that he may have some pygmy hippopotamus in his genes.
