Layla
Layla was a almost 13 year old Shar Pei I got when I was 19 years old. We grew up together and did everything together. We went through many moves and many momentous events. She was truly my best friend. She even almost saved by life one time when someone tried to break into my house when I was living in a not so great part of town in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They punched in my front window while I was home and she jumped on the couch with her hair raised and barked and scared them off. She was always so sweet and loving to everyone she met including all her kitty and doggy friends. At one point she lived with 3 cats and she would curl up with all of them on the couch for snuggles. I used to say mamma Layla and her kitties. She loved to do anything outdoors, hiking, beach trips, walks, even just hanging in the backyard with her family. She gladly made the 18 plus trip with me from Wisconsin for North Carolina and when I fell in love and got in engaged she adopted him as her own papa just as easily. She loved him just as much as if she knew him all her life. She gave us many good years and we miss her every day but are thankful for all the good memories with her.
Rest in peace sweet Layla bug! we love you soo much sweet baby girl!
