Dexter (#569-16)

Dexter

Dexter is a 4 year old neutered male that has been bounced around to 3 different homes since last summer and really needs a safe home to go to when he comes to MACSPRO. He is a happy, goofy guy, typical Shar Pei that needs time to trust again. An experienced shar pei person would be the best fit for him.
If you could help this guy out and keep him out of the kennel, please submit an on-line foster or adoption application. Please, fosters in the DC/MD/VA area only.

Update (06/2016): Dexter went to a foster home last week, where he has won the heart of his foster dad & other pups in the house. His foster dad has fallen for Dexter and he will be staying with his foster now furever family.

Victor (#561-16)

Victor

Victor and Victoria will be coming to MACSPRO from Puerto Rico. Victor and Victoria came from a terrible situation in which the owners moved out of their home and left their two Shar-Peis shut inside with no food, no one looking after them, no way to get out, no nothing.

Victor and Victoria require serious medical attention as they were left abandoned in a closed house without food or water. Volunteers had to work hard to rescue Victor and Victoria from the abandoned house as there was a lot of rubble and stuff barricading the dogs.

We really need fosters once Victor and Victoria arrive to us--please let us know if you can help!

Update (01/2016): Here is a wonderful update on how Victor and Victoria are coming along! And again, we'll need fosters when they arrive in the USA from Puerto Rico.

Update (4/2016): Victor is coming to Maryland this weekend! We heard from Victor's foster mom that he is very, very spoiled and loves to get kissed on the cheek. He also loves to ride around in the car--he'll go anywhere! He is active and playful. However, he should be fed alone, because he really, really loves to eat and will try mightily to get into everyone else's dishes. He doesn't bite or growl, but he tries to push them so they understand to move....He's a strong boy, who may not always know his own strength when he's playing with other dogs. His favorite thing (beside getting kisses) is curling up in a really comfy bed. He really needs a foster home!

Update (06/2016): Victor, now called Charlie, was adopted and went to his furever home with Vanessa & Oliver in Luray VA.

Wilbur (#486-13)

Wilbur 1

Wilbur is a sweet MACSPRO boy who is coming back to us. Wilbur is looking for his new furever home.

Wilbur absolutely loves spending time with people! He may need lots of time and a slow introduction when dealing with other dogs. His eyes are not the best but he can see when someone is ready to love him.

Franklin (#564-16)

Franklin

Franklin is a male Shar-Pei mix with good manners and knows some commands.

Update (02/2016): Franklin waiting to play. He's put on a few pounds & is filling out nicely. He's a great dog, got the best of shar-pei & retriever traits. Please consider him if you're looking for an active companion.

Update (2/2016): Franklin went to foster with Terry & his new BFF Sadie in Virginia.

Update (3/2016): Franklin was given an excellent life while living with his Foster Dad.  Unfortunately, he crossed over the Rainbow Bridge after a car accident.  RIP Franklin, you were loved.

Raven (#559-15)

Raven
Raven was found eating trash and living on the street in Baltimore. She was taken in by a good Samaritan who recognized her as a pei. Raven is in rough shape, flea bitten and most of her hair is gone, but she is as sweet as can be considering what ever she went thru. Raven is believed to be approximately 3-4 yrs old.
Raven has already been seen by a vet, gotten her shots and had a nice bath and was a good girl during the whole ordeal.
Raven is very underweight and needs a foster or furever home where she can get some TLC.

Update (01/2016): Raven's fur is growing in and she's gained a little weight, such a sweet little girl. She loves people & kids, she's the Petco Greeter at our adoption events. Rides like a little lady in the car also, even with Franklin trying to play with her in the back seat.

Update (2/22/2016): Raven went to foster and is so happy to have a playmate. She still needs a forever home, and would fit in with a home with kids and another dog to play with.

Update (03/2016):  Jeremy & Corrine became foster failures, they fell for Raven’s charm and made her a permanent part of their family. Tofu now has a permanent partner in crime!

China (#535-15)

China is our new girl coming from New York City. MACSPRO was able to save her just before she was about to be put down. China is about 1 year old and 32 lbs. She gets along with olderchildren but needs time to warm up to strangers. China knows "sit" and is crate trained. China needs to be an only dog.  Please consider giving China a furever home!

Update (01/2016): China is ready for the snow storm!

Update (02/2016): China’s foster mom has made it official and she is no longer available. She’s adjusted well to the new family home with Anna, Kato & Puma in Columbia, MD

Gus (#566-16)

Gus
From Kentucky,  Gus was left at the shelter during off hours, luckily, someone went back to the shelter and he got inside out of the cold, along with some food in his belly.  He’s a sweet boy that could use a foster family to give him the TLC he needs to nurse him back to a healthy dog.

Update (02/2016): Gus went to his furever him with Lydia & Paul in Pennsylvania.   Have a great life Gus!

Jia (#567-16)

Kia

Jia is coming to MACSPRO this Saturday. Jia is a 3 yr old apricot dilute girl that was surrendered by her family when she did not get along with the other dog in the household.

Update (02/2016):  Jia went to her forever home back in PA with Chris & Lindsay.  Based on her pictures, she looks like she’s settling in very well and getting spoiled!

Valentino (Private Adoption)

Valentino is a lovable 4 year old 50 lb Shar Pei who comes from Falls Church, Va. His  favorite activity is snuggling up on a soft blanket and sleeping all day.  He loves affection from his owners. He has previously lived in a loving home with adults, grandparents, and children who lived with him from 3-6 and 7-10 years old.  He takes a little time to warm up to new people, but once he does he will show them a lot of affection. He prefers to be the only pet- he is more cautious towards other animals, but will also warm up to them when introduced slowly.
